How Local Students and Residents Benefited by Medical Colleges in Jaipur, Indore and Bhopal

For the medical aspirants, medical colleges are in plenty in India. But the real value of these colleges is fully realised if they are found in places closer to the cities in which students are residing or are nearer to their residences. No more are the big cities scoring over smaller towns in terms of intelligence of the students or their academic performances. Nowadays, even the students from the tier II cities such as Jaipur, Indore and Bhopal are scoring good marks in the school levels and are excelling in different fields of higher education.

Not only are they having higher percentage of marks, but also they are topping various examinations. So, the generalisation that the larger city students are intelligent and good in academics is falsified in the modern day education system. In order to give the students of the smaller towns and cities a level playing field, it is becoming necessary that the educational institutions be opened in the smaller cities so that the students get the opportunity to study in these cities.

In many cases, the financial set up of these academically advanced and brilliant students, do not allow them to move out to distant locations. They are not able to afford the education in metro cities due to the high cost of living and the higher tuition fee which the colleges levy. Being located in the metro city, the cost of studying in the educational institutions is obviously higher. Apart from the tuition fee, the accommodations and fooding takes up a greater part of the expenditure. In some cases, students are not able to go out of the smaller cities due to their personal reasons.

To cater to the local residents and people from the villages, it is required to have colleges in the vicinity of such towns. The presence of medical colleges in Jaipur is a testimony to the fact that the education system is looking at a major shift. Opening up of medical colleges in Jaipur has enabled the students from different villages and towns in Rajasthan to study in these colleges, thereby allowing them the opportunity to study medicine and other health related courses.

Although, there are few government medical colleges in Jaipur, they still are sufficient for those students who wouldn’t have been able to study medicine, if they would have been required to go out to some metro city. A lot of benefit has also been found for the people of the state for getting treatments due to the opening of the medical colleges in Indore.

Since the medical colleges under the government set ups are able to treat patients at lower costs, these colleges and hospitals have benefited the patients as well, apart from the thousands of students who can now go for the medicine and health related courses in their own state. Medical colleges in Indore as well as the medical colleges in Bhopal, serves this purpose to a great extent. With benefits for the residents of the state in terms of treatment and studies becoming important, many organisations, in collaboration with the governments are coming out to open medical colleges in the smaller towns and districts.
