Associates Degree in Applied Science
An Executive accounting degree is part of an Associate in Applied Science. An Executive Accounting program accredited by The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) consists of 100 total credit hours. Students are expected to complete 34 credit hours of General Education courses, 36 credit hours of Accounting courses 24 credit hours of Business courses, and 6 credit hours of computer courses.
The coursework required in an Executive Accounting program will teach students how to perform a variety of functions necessary for success in the field. For example, students will learn general accounting procedures, how to prepare income statements and tax returns, and how to analyze financial statements and accounting data in order to make sound financial decisions to benefit a company. Students will also be expected to demonstrate a knowledge of computer literacy and information resources, the ability to differentiate between financial and managerial accounting, and how apply critical thinking skills to make financial decisions critical to a company’s success.
Upon completion of the program, Executive Accounting graduates will be able to apply their skills diversified business settings throughout the city of Chicago. Executive Accounting is a career that is in demand and experiencing growth with excellent potential for career advancement and high wages.
