Surgical Technology is a fascinating field where individuals work under the supervision of surgeons and another medical personnel while assisting with surgical operations. Surgical Technology graduates are vital members of operating room teams which are comprised of surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists. Prior to an operation or surgical procedure, the Surgical Technology graduates are tasked with preparing the operating room.

Surgical technology professionals have the responsibility of setting up the surgical instruments, equipment and required sterile solutions. Training and Education in Surgical Technology

Surgical technology graduates are non-licensed, but individual hospitals, surgery centers and healthcare provider networks may have their own standards for hiring. Apprenticeships and on the job training may be offered before a recent graduate is entrusted to the operating room on their own.
