Bone cancer is a very rare type of cancer and takes place in the bones of the body. This cancer can take place anywhere in the body. Usually, the long bones of the arms and the legs are affected by it. There are many risks associated with bone cancer and they can surely be very extensive. Many complications take place when the disease is being treated. Many side effects and health challenges have to be faced by the patient. Given below are the risks associated with bone cancer:

# Increase in the blood calcium

When the bone is affected by cancer, it will result in an increase in the amount of calcium in blood. This leads to psychotic episodes among the patients. According to the research, if the calcium is increased, the ability of the patient to think or focus clearly is affected. These will also result in cramping. Some people feel very dizzy or dazed. If there is an increase in the calcium percentage, kidney stone problems can be created.

# Radiation therapy

This therapy is used as a treatment for curing bone cancers such as Chondrosarcoma. The pain that occurs due to bone cancer is eliminated. However, the risk of pain is lessened by the treatment. However, the chances of risk are also increased. A problem of dizziness, fatigue, vomiting and tiredness can be faced by the patient. Skin irritation can also take place at the place of the therapy.

# Pain

This problem is usually noticed at the site of the tumor. It starts as an intermittent and later becomes stable. Sometimes, it will increase as the cancer progresses. Usually, the pain will increase as cancer progresses. The person will also get a limp if the cancer is in the leg.

# Bone lesions

There are two types of lesions. The blastic lesion and the lytic lesion. The material of the bone is destroyed by the lytic lesions. The bone is overfilled with cells by the blastic lesions. If these are not treated on time, they may become injurious.

# Osteomyelitis

The risk of bone cancer will surely increase when a cancer treatment is taken by a patient. This infection will have various effects such as pain, fever and chills. If timely treatment is not taken, this can surely become injurious.

# Fractures

Broken bones and fractures are also common complications of bone cancer. The cancerous bones will become weaker and they may break due to stress. Intense pain is reported by the people who suffer pain.
