By Renu Tichkule Subscribe to RSS | December 15th 2011 | Views:

No holiday, however pleasant, can be relived with the proper accompanying feelings of pleasure and satisfaction without gazing at a souvenir that you bought there. Souvenirs may be handicrafts, carvings, statues, clothing, carpets, idols, paintings and many others. Souvenirs reflect the charm and unique culture associated with the destination. They are made using local raw materials like wood, stone, fabric or dyes and crafted in a style peculiar to that part of the world. The principal aim is to bring back the exciting sensations of a past travel experience. Any South India tour package is made more interesting with local souvenirs. Walking to a local bazaar, enjoying the spread of merchandise and eventually purchasing one is an experience with its own attendant lure. Here’s a look at some souvenirs that must be penciled in when you make your South India travel plan.
