A Buddhist tour is like a self discovery, a spiritual and ascetic tour for any traveller which helps him in self transformation. Gautam Buddha the spiritual leader was regarded as the founder of Buddhism. Born as a prince Siddhartha about 623 BC to the king Suddhodana at Lumbini in Nepal has given up all his worldly pleasures at the very early age and become an ascetic to attain self-realization. Buddhism is a way of finding peace with in oneself. The religion helps us to find peace, happiness and contentment that we seek in our lives.

For deeper and better understanding of the religion, Buddhist tours to India offer a visit to explore some of the famous Buddhist sites like Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, Lumbini, Kushinagar, Nalanda, Shravasti etc. Various pilgrims from all over the world visit Buddhist temples to pay homage to Lord Buddha seek His blessings and understand the true meaning of life and spirituality.

Bodh Gaya:-The first spiritual site on Buddhist tours to India is Bodh Gaya. Known as the site where Lord Buddha attain enlightenment and thus visited by vast number of visitors from across the world. The other major attractions of Bodhgaya in Bihar include Mahabodhi Temple which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Many countries like China, Japan, Nepal, Srilanka and Bhutan have wonderful Buddhist monasteries around the main Mahabodhi temple are the major attractions among the visitors.

Lumbini:-Lumbini is a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site which is the birth place of Lord Buddha. Located in the foothills of Himalayas in Nepal near by Indian border, is one of the must visited sites on Buddhist tours. The nearby places like Sanctum Sanctorum of the birth place, Maya Devi Temple, Pushkarini, The Ashoka Pillar, Japan Peace Stupa are among the most visited places that helps the devotees to understand the religion in much better ways.

Sarnath:-According to the Buddhist scriptures, Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha preached His first sermon after attaining enlightenment. It is a must visit site on Buddhist tours to India. The major attraction of this place includes Dhamekh Stupa, Ashoka Pillars etc.

Nalanda:- when you are on Buddhist tour then you can’t afford to miss a visit to Nalanda in Bihar. Once a prestigious seat of learning, it is a small town which was famous for its Nalanda University where students from all across the world gather to attain knowledge and wisdom. It is renowned as a famous center for Buddhist learning where Lord Buddha had stayed earlier.

Rajgir:- Rajgir, a beautiful town in Nalanda District of Bihar is one of the famous Buddhist spots in Bihar where Lord Buddha spend many months in meditating and preaching at Gridhakuta Hill. Rajgir represents a beautiful amalgamation of Hindu Temples along with Jain and Buddhist monasteries.
