The unique regal character of Rajasthan makes it one of the most visited tourist destinations in India. Tourists from western and European countries also take a keen interest in Rajasthan. It is a perfect destination for family holidays as it has something for every member of the family. Pick any India tours guide, and you will find Rajasthan on the top in the list of the most visited tourist destinations in India. The colorful lifestyle of Rajasthan has gained a lot of attention among international tourists. The culture and history of Rajasthan have fascinated so many tourists in the past.

Rajasthan portrays the unmatched royal culture of the former Rajputana. The cities of Rajasthan amaze the travelers with their historic and cultural riches. It is the largest state in India, and its capital is Jaipur. The city of Jaipur is often called the pink city because of its pink walls. The city has a rich history and is filled with many tourist attractions, which include the City Palace and the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal). Some other well known tourist places are the Birla Temple, Amer Fort and Jantar Mantar, which is a World Heritage Site. Jaipur is also the part of the famous Golden Triangle tour in India.

Every city of Rajasthan has something special and unique to give to its visitors. The city of Udaipur, for instance, is a treat to the eyes. It is called the Venice of the East and the city of lakes because of its beautiful palaces and lakes. It has many other places of tourist interest like the City Palace of Udaipur, the Lake Palace, the Jagdish Temple and the Lake Pichola. Udaipur also has a very rich history and culture to share with the tourists. Another major tourist attraction is the Shilpgram crafts village which is famous for its arts and craft works.

The major tourist attractions in Bikaner are the Junagarh Fort, the Karni Mata Temple, the Laxmi Niwas Palace and the Lalgarh Palace. The renowned Bikaner Camel Festival is also an outstanding tourist event held annually in January.

Jaisalmer is another important city of Rajasthan, which is located deep in the Thar Desert. Also known as the Golden City, Jaisalmer is a colorful city full of many beautifully sculptured temples. The Jaisalmer Fort is the main tourist attraction which houses the Royal Palace and many Jain Temples. An annual Desert Festival in January is held here to promote the traditional art and culture of Jaisalmer.

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. It also houses the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a famous summer retreat destination for the people of Rajasthan. Here one can find so many Hindu temples.
