If you go on to look around the world for a land which has been active through the history at all time and has had a very active presence across the world, it would undoubtedly be India. The land has been the place where a lot of kingdoms and cultures have erupted and come up, making it a conglomerate of cultures and traditions. These years of history, dominance and inter-mingling of cultures has given India a monument and sightseeing places pool to boast about. This is the reason why the land is the place where a lot of tourist come to visit and enjoy the enriching past of the countries.

Although the entire span of the country is thronged by sights which are a home to the enriching past and culture of since the ancient times, there are some places which have been the centre of culture and politics throughout the ancient dynasties and kingdoms. Delhi and Agra are two of the most important cities of the country which have a lot to offer in terms of the historical attractions. The reason why Delhi and Agra are the perfect places to head to for a history lover is due to the fact that both these cities have been the capital of the Mughal as well as the British Empire in India and has remains which can remind you of those glorious times.

Agra stands witness and host to perhaps the most famous wonder of the world the Taj Mahal. This magnanimous structure crafted out of white marble stands on the coast of the Yamuna River and provides the onlookers with a view worth cherishing for long. There could be no better standing place for a monument which is a symbol of love and this structure was built y the Mughal kind Shahjahan as a tribute to the love of his for his beautiful mistress- Mumtaz. Seeing the lush white shiny dome of the monument in bright sunlight is the best means to celebrate love with your partner. Apart from the Taj, the city of Agra also boasts of a lot of forts and monuments dating back to the Mughal era. The Fatehpur Sikri fort and the Agra fort stand out as two of the most magnificent forts for the at period, which are flocked by a lot of tourists from across the world today.

Just about 250 kilometres away from the city of Agra lies the nation capital territory of India- the historical city of Delhi. It has been the centre of politics and administration for a lot of civilisations and dynasties and this has given it a lot of monuments to boast of. The Qutub Minar stands a testament to the dynasty of Qutub-uddin ainbak and the Ashoka pillar next to it has assumed a great importance in the Indian economy as well. Then there is the Red Fort and the Jama Masjid, which remind you of the glorious Mughal days. Don’t miss the British made India gate and the parliament house, while you are in Delhi.
