Kerala, Heavenly Destination for the Tourists

Kerala which is also known as God’s own country is famous throughout the world for it s stunning natural beauty and the unique houseboats. It is a land of excellent beaches swift flowing rivers, exotic backwaters, plunging waterfalls, lush green valleys, rolling hills, swaying palm trees which is spread across an area of approximately 38,800 sq km. This heavenly state is blessed with pleasant climate, eye catching sceneries and traditional houseboats which invites horde of tourists from across the world. It provides the tourists with endless destinations which include backwaters, hill stations, wildlife sanctuaries, waterfalls at different locations. It is also famous for its wide variety of cultivation which includes coconut tree, tapioca, coffee, tea, rubber, vanilla and spices like ginger, turmeric, cardamom and pepper. The state of Kerala is also well known for its different dance forms like Kathakali, Theyyam, Mohiniattam and lot more.

Kerala is also called the Land of spices and Coconut is the most important ingredient which is used while preparing the Kerala food. Both the vegetarian and the non vegetarian food are prepared in a unique style using different types of spices, coconut milk, coconut oil, curry leaf chilly, mustard seed, tamarind as well as coconut paste which adds taste and flavor to the food. Coconut and the banana chips are the inseparable part of the Kerala cuisine. While travelling to Kerala one should not forget to taste the food as it is so tasty that the visitors will lick their finger.

The favorite food items of Kerala are iddlis, pottu, dosas, lunch rice with thoran, kaalan, pachadi, olen, avail, bananas, chicken, stew, potato stew, fry fish and lots more. The cuisine of this magical land is actually an exotic mix of local produce, bounties of the sea and the influence of the travelers. Traditional Kerala foods have the rich essence of the spices which brings unique taste in the food.

Kerala is located in the extreme southwest of the Indian peninsula and is considered to be one of the must see destination for the tourists and the visitors. It is surrounded by Arabian Sea on the West and mountain ranges of the Western Ghats on the East.
