The biggest advantage with home phones is that they are reliable, inexpensive to use and generally are not disturbed by weather conditions like it happens with cell phones. Another important point in favor of the homes phones is the experience that services providers have to back them give good services. In fact the competing cell phone is a poor cousin to the home phone when it comes to quality of service, especially the voice part. Voices are usually very clear and the hazards they pose are also the minimal. The other reason why homes across still prefer home phones is the ability of home phone to be included along with other services like TV and internet.

Since home phones are often included in packages called bundles they also cost less because of the efficient use of resources like the optic fiber cable. The cell phones on the other hand depend on scare spectrum resources making them more expensive for the common subscriber. And that is the reason why cell phone companies will rarely give you free nationwide calling or Canada, Puerto Rico free calls. In fact most cell phone users have to pay through their nose to get cell phones if they have to make international calls. Cell phones do have advantages that home phones don’t have. But dividing your usage prudently between the two types will let you save a lot of money and give you advantages as well.

The first and most important point to remember when you use ATT home phone is to make an assessment of how much you are going to use. Whether you intend to use them for calling within the US, or make lots of call to the Canada is the important point to be assessed. Once you have made a reasonably good assessment then turn your attention to when you use them. Day-calls can be expensive and night-calls can be cheaper and that you need to take into consideration. So if you have an important call to make during the day, and you are in your office or home, when not use the home rather than use the cell? After there isn’t any incentive like a superior voice quality in the cell phone, then why use it.

Cell phones cannot give you the versatility and flexibility when it comes to features. Homes phones can connect to fax machines like fish takes to water for example. They have the ability to be linked to multiple users within the household and in fact a dozen numbers can be connected on a single pair of cable although you may not want it for your home. Then there is the call conference feature that will let many users carry on a conference just as if a meeting is taking place in your home. Technology as it is today cannot provide all that on your cell phone. The other advantage is the ability of home phones to connect to internet, VoIP, TV and the LAN work of your home.

When you order a home phone take care to avail as many features as you may want. The truth is that most of the features come as standard and very few you will need to order separately. In fact there is a wide variety of operators in most areas of the US. Before you order a home phone from operators like ATT home phone, check if they will terminate the optic fiber connection to your home. They will usually, if you remain within the mandatory distance for an optic fiber cable. Select the right packages from the deals that they keep open.
