Popular Movies Showing Mens Kilts
Not all of the readers really know what mens kilts are; some continue to be wondering what they are and what they’re for. A quick introduction, a mens kilt is a knee-length garment with pleats at the rear; it's an original and traditional attire in the Scottish Highlands from the 16th century.
Nowadays, many Scottish and Irish ancestors and members of their family tree are still using this traditional attire. The fact is, some motion pictures in our generation have seen the beauty of these mens kilts and so, the author decided to create a list of movies showing these good looking kilts.
1. Braveheart (1995) - Many historians might have inquired if the real William Wallace ever used a kilt, however, that concern did not stop this Academy Award winning film. Braveheart is an epic historical drama film that is about the political status of Scotland after it was occupied and vanquished by King Edward I of England.
2. Formula 51 - The 51st State (2001) - It is an action film starring Samuel L. Jackson in a kilt. Although the movie had a great deal of profanity, people will often be reminded of how Samuel L. Jackson wore his mens kilts in all of his scenes. It truly does work so much with him as he appears so good looking wearing a kilt.
3. Rob Roy (1995) - Rob Roy stars Liam Neeson in which he played the breadwinner who'll provide anything for his family. Tim Roth stars as the wicked Archibald Cunningham where each of them battled versus each other through the entire film. Liam portrayed the role of a man who’s representing the good people though they were not as rich as Tim Roth. The film was seen to have a lot of mens kilts so it's also included in our list.
4. So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993) - So I married an axe murderer is probably the best comedy kilt movies that some people have seen. It showcased by Mike Myers before he turned as Austin Powers. Myers plays both his character and the role of his father in this movie; the father’s role is amazingly funny and has a number of memorable lines. Every one of the men in the wedding ceremony during that movie wore a traditional Scottish garb as their way of honoring the groom’s Scottish ancestral roots. One thing to take note, the correct usage of mens kilts was applied with pride in the course of the film.
5. Highlander (1986) - Highlander is a standard 1980s action motion picture which featured Christopher Lambert as the titular figure and the superb Sean Connery as his mentor. This movie focused on a race of men who could only die by cutting off their heads. This is where the “there could only one” tag line was made popular.
Conclusion
There’s something about Scotland that is attractive to many people around the globe. Mens kilts truly attract lots of individuals and one can see evidence in the films made throughout the years. Let’s hope that each person in the world will also take pride in their color, race and culture. You won't ever know, your national costumes might appear next on the big screen.
