NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) is the largest and biggest state owned power producing company in INDIA. The company was set up on 7th November in the year 1975. Indian government is the largest shareholder of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). This company chiefly is engaged in the operations of construction, engineering and other functioning’s of power producing plants. The head quarter of NTPC is based in New Delhi. To make NTPC a successful and efficiently running company approximately 26000 employees are engaged. NTPC is also engaged in giving consultancy to power utilities in INDIA. National Thermal Power Corporation has 06 joint ventures, 07 gas based and 15 coal based power stations. The employee contentment level at NTPC is, perhaps, amid the utmost in the trade, and does not stop from the compensation package only.

NTPC is hunting for hard working, skilled and trained professionals just to fill up current vacancies in various domains and sections of the company. Candidates with necessary eligibility can apply to these job openings through online before the last date of submission ends. The details of eligibility criteria are discussed below:-

Age criteria:- The applicant must not be more than 27 years of age as on 1st January 2012. For SC or ST or PWD candidates age relaxation is given as per government rules and regulations.

Educational Qualification Criteria:- The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or Technology or AMIE from a recognized university or anything equivalent. The candidate who scores 65% marks in any discipline is only eligible to apply for NTPC job opening. Relaxation is given to SC or ST applicants as per government rules and regulations.

Selection Procedure:- The selection of the candidates depends upon the marks scored in the GATE 2012 exam. GATE exam means Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE exam will be objective in nature and includes questions on Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Reasoning, and English. Candidates must be aware that all the questions are under negative marking.

After passing this examination the passed out candidates will be called for group discussion and later for personal interview. The candidates will also have to go through medical test before final selection. Every year the GATE Exam is conducted on all India level.

Pay scale details:- A basic pay of INR 24900 per month will be provided to the selected candidates. This pay is given under the pay scale of INR 24900-3%-50500. This is a stipend pay scale given to each candidate while his training duration. The training duration is of 1 year. After the end of training session their basic pay will be increased from INR 24900 to INR 25650. Apart from the basic pay the chosen candidates will also be given benefits such as the medical treatment, leave allowance, Gratuity; Provident Fund etc. they will also be entitled to receive the dearness allowances.
