Ways of Giving Safety Training on Fire Extinguisher

It is the duty of the management to give enough safety training on the operating methods of fire extinguisher in the office or factory. Every place is at risk of catching fire accident any time and hence for a company, it is mandatory to keep proper equipments to put off the fire. Nowadays, in many offices you can find portable devices like CO2 fire extinguisher which is easy to operate and powerful enough to extinguish any type of fire. Keep the device handy and also teach them how to take it out and operate it. In some companies, the HR department will give training for the workers to handle emergency situations like fire accident and other major accidents.

Employees should learn to use the device comfortably so that they can operate them in case if the situation warranties. The ideal way to avoid fire damage is to avoid them. Fire can cause heavy damage in office or home thereby destroying records and important documents. In some cases, the entire office furniture along with important records may burn totally causing irreparable loss to the management. In case, if the employees don’t know how to operate the machine they could not be successful in putting off the fire. Since fire can spread easily in the airy atmosphere, it can damage the property of the office.

Even a short electrical circuit can initiate big fire. Once the fire starts as a tiny spark, it may soon gain power by burning the paper documents and wooden chairs giving a big spread. It can spread on easily to any objects which conducts heat. The presence of oxygen in the air can help in spreading the fire rapidly. With the help of fuel in the form of paper and wood, fire can totally damage the entire premises of the office, if is not put off quickly.

In factories, inflammable liquids like petrol, kerosene can invoke fire. Sometimes, ignitable gases can start up the fire and in rare cases, some chemical reactions can initiate fumes or vapors which transforms into fire by the presence of oxygen in the air. Whatever may be the type of fire, CO2 fire extinguisher can put off it rapidly if one knows how to use the device properly.

Never hesitate to call the fire department for help in case if you suspect fire leakage in home or office. Remove all the substances which are capable of burning more fire quickly. Use the fire extinguisher fast by opening the nozzle and squeezing the trigger on all sides.
