History and Success Story of Volkswagen and Its Exotic Cars
Volkswagen is one of the oldest companies which still manufactures is brand even today. It has manufactured cars in all classes of the
society. Starting from the middle class to the Rich Class, people have an admiration for Volkswagen. Originally the company started
back in the year 1937 in German. Hence it was initially a German make. Even in those days the automotive industries in Germany
manufactured luxurious cars. However, due to the economic factors, people in Germany could not afford more than a motorcycle. Due to
this reason only one out of fifty people in German could afford a car. Most of the Volkswagen car manufactures in the early period was
Beetle. These cars could accommodate three children and two adults and run up to a speed of hundred kilometers an hour. Hence it was
also known as ‘The People’s Car’. It is said that Adolf Hitler was also involved in the production of these cars.
However, the cars that were manufactured started to move out to Countries like Canada only in the early 1950’s. Volkswagen had 12
makes which were loved by people. A typical 11C model was in black, green and sand colors. Along with this it had other colors as well
for various other models. These cars were put on Canadian exhibitions for the first time in the year 1952. By the end of 1960’s the cars
started to become outdated. However, Volkswagen had good advertisements and due to the American exports and a growing population,
people still preferred to use these cars. During the same period Volkswagen had Beetle cars and Type Three and Type Four models.
However, in 1973, the company fell into serious trouble because very less numbers of these cars were sold. The Volkswagen Beetle sales
dropped drastically in the North American and the European Markets. Hence, Volkswagen had to combine with Audi and brought out
the new generation cars like the Passat, Scirocco, Golf and Polo. Volkswagen started with the Passat which was a fast track version of the
Audi 80. This was followed by the others like the Scirocco and then Polo which re-badge Audi 50. However, Volkswagen Polo became a
failure and did not continue for long, however became a base for the making Volkswagen Derby. In the 1990’s a different set of cars was
released and were formally known as the Third Generation Golf. Two of the cars that arrived in North America during this period were
Golf MK3 and Jetta. At the same time a sedan version was also released in Europe and was known as the Vento.
One of the achievements for the Volkswagen during this same period was acquiring luxury brands like the Lamborghini, Bentley and
Bugatti. With the help of Bentley Volkswagen broke records by selling more than ten thousand cars for the launch of Bentley
Continental. This made the joint venture between Volkswagen and Bentley even more long standing. In addition, came up with Bugatti
EB110, Bugatti Chiron and Veyron at the same time.
The sixth generations came up after 2000 with the launch of the Volkswagen Golf in 2008. The Volkswagen GTI is a hot hatchback
version of the Golf. It boasts 2.0 Turbocharged fuel stratified injection. The Volkswagen Passat and Touareg with TDI engine was
introduced in 2007. Today it has establishments with many companies like Toyota, Suzuki, and Honda Accord and so on. The
Volkswagen New Beetle is also one of the stunning cars to drive. Along with this have hard top convertible and all sorts of cars. Today if
we are on a switch to our Movie Channels, we can find that many of these cars are being portrayed in different movies. This brings us an
