The third season will be comprised of 10 episodes. Bored to Death will complement it with its own quirkiness in its eight-episode third season, starting a week after Hung on Monday, October 10th at 9:00PM EST.

Deadline has the report on the dubious decision to turn Martin Scorsese's revered film into a series. As the movie celebrates its 20th anniversary, word has come that the scripter of the original 1990 picture, Nicholas Pileggi, will "at least" write the pilot for the proposed series. Pileggi also wrote the book Wiseguy on which the film was based.
"Warner Bros TV is in lead position to grab the series -- the studio distributed the original pic -- though several studios want it," says Deadline. "Scorsese's participation is unclear, but [the original's producer] Irwin Winkler is likely to be the TV exec producer."
