These days compressed natural gas or cng has emerged to be the most widely used alternative fuel. They are now used in the domestic sphere as well as in the automobile sector. Although, in the automobile sector it is still left to solidify its stance as cars can now shift to CNG with the help of a conversion kit.

The CNG conversion kit comprises of certain tools and equipments that are installed in the vehicle. It includes regulator, pressure gauge, hose clamps, and many other accessories and tools. However, the owner has to purchase a cng cylinder separately as it does not come with the conversion kit.

The various advantages and disadvantages of using compressed natural gas conversion kits are as follows:

Pros:

• Compressed natural gas is far less expensive than other fuels like gasoline or petrol. This can therefore be an economic and pocket friendly source of alternative fuel for people.

• The major benefit of using CNG is that it is environment friendly and does not allow harmful emissions. Thus, it is always preferred over other fuels like gasoline or petrol as it is an eco-friendly fuel.

• Cars which run on CNG has a much cleaner and efficient engine as it not produce carbon deposits on combustion.

• Moreover, the engines run quietly upon the use of CNG. Engine noise is minimized due to the high octane level of natural gas.

Cons:

• The primary drawback of going for CNG conversion is that the tanks require a lot of storage space. Some space of your vehicle might be occupied by this CNG cylinder. Moreover, it also adds weight to the vehicle.

• Another major drawback of using a CNG car is that, there are less numbers of filling stations as compared to petrol pumps.

Thus, after judging all the advantages and the disadvantages, one must decide whether he or she wants to go for a CNG conversion or not.
