7 Student Friendly Areas in Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a great place for students to live. The city has it all, a buzzing day life and a thrilling nightlife, what more can a student ask for? Moreover the education standard is world class, giving promising future to those who choose to study in Edinburgh.

Around one fifth of Edinburgh population comprises of students. Many students prefer to rent flats in the city, as they provide them with more space and privacy. There are quite a few areas which are popular with students. They have it all, cafe’s, bars, shops, easily accessible public transport. Students have a vast choice of private flats to choose from.

Flats in Bruntsfield:

flats in this area are ideal for students of Napier University and University of Edinburgh, as these are within walking distance. The place also has café bars and specialty shops.

Flats in Marchmont:

Marchmont has a residential atmosphere but at the same time it’s a very lively student area. Flats in this area are well suited for student’s of University of Edinburgh, as it is nearby. Napier’s Marchiston Campus is also at a few minutes distance from Marchmont. Moreover city centre is just ten minutes walk away from the meadows.

this is an affluent area in the south of Edinburgh, which illustrates the fact that its an expensive area to live in. It is close to Craiglokhart campuses and Napier’s Craighouse. Moreover the area has accessible bus routes.

this area is closer to University of Edinburgh’s main campus and its science campus. Flats in this area are affordable and are popular with students on a budget.

Flats in Leith:

this area is famous with students and graduates because it offers cheap accommodation and safety to its residents. Leith has a number of shops and cafés which provide value for money. The bustling waterfront area in Leith is one of the rare sights.

flats in this area of Edinburgh are popular with students despite the fact that its away from almost all campuses. A bus journey or a long walk will take students to their institutions. The area has accessible public transport. Flats in New Town are expensive.

Flats in Old Town:

this area includes Edinburgh College of Arts. This is again a popular area with students with a lively nightlife.
