Treatments for Skin Hair Problems

Excessive or unwanted skin hair can be one of the most embarrassing situations commonly facing adolescents and adults across the world. Women often have unwanted facial hair that appears on the upper lip, chin and sides of the face. Before deciding on the proper removal method, however, you should first determine that the cause of the hair growth is not down to hormones. If you experience abnormal hair growth on specific areas of the face or if the hair is very thick, you might have a hormonal imbalance. Also, during pregnancy and while taking hormone replacement therapy, unwanted facial hair often crops up or growth is accelerated. Many doctors advise waiting until your hormones settle down to begin treatment. Otherwise, the hair continues to be stimulated by the hormones and such treatment is not as effective. On the surface, hair grows outwards from many small cuticles.

In reality, millions of women feel embarrassed since they are coping with unsightly facial hair rather than the clear smooth skin they desire. Few women take painstaking measures to constantly conceal facial hair, so that even their significant other or closest friend remains unaware. They tweeze, shave, bleach or wax on a regular basis, only to cause the hair to grow in stronger and darker than before. Additionally, there is a great deal of skin irritation, and often, permanent damage being caused by these repetitive methods. In fact, facial hair for women is quite common and is one of the most commonly treated areas for laser hair reduction. Needless to say, this condition has an emotional impact on us women. Although the it was indicated that lasers were used several years ago, there may be a few reasons why one would not receive good outcomes. First and foremost, the right technology makes all of the difference because not all lasers are appropriate or safe for all skin types. The technology has changed and improved greatly over the last several years. Secondly, this person may have been treated with sub-therapuetic settings, which will greatly hinder results. As mentioned, hormonal levels will influence hair growth and response to treatment; however, current research supports that laser hair reduction is still the best option even for those diagnosed with conditions such as polycystic ovarian disease. Finding the right treatment program combined with trained, licensed professionals should help you achieve your goals. Keep in mind, a 70% reduction in hair is considered good, average results. Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth. Laser hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair. It typically takes several laser hair removal treatments to provide an extended hair-free period. Periodic maintenance treatments may be needed as well. One of the most important things to avoid doing after any surgery is applying any kind of facial creams, ointments, cleansers, bleaching agents, cold creams, lotions, sprays, beauty products such as whiteners, etc. without consulting your surgeon. Moreover, the skin must not be exposed to any irritants, harsh chemical agent, gases, extremely harsh or extended durations of sunlight. Therefore, the skin must be carefully and gently moistened and wiped and not rigorously, harshly.
